TYLA March MeetingOfficer Elections/Policy & Procedure ChangesMarch 18, 2000 Even though the terms will not come into effect until June 1, 2000, the TYLA held officer, director, and TYABA board member elections during the weekend of the Coca Cola tournament. It was moved to this weekend a few years back in effort to get more youth bowlers to attend, but the numbers seem to be decreasing.
Officer Elections Darrell Lovell (Houston) stepped down as president after 3 years and Aaron Brezik (Garland) was elected to step in after 3 years as treasurer. Anita Manns (Austin) remains in the vice-president's chair for a second year, and Michele Moore (Austin) was elected as secretary. Bryan Harris (Magnolia) is now taking over as treasurer. Directors are Brianne Koehler (Houston), Rachel Miller (Weimer), and Chris Pickett (Rowlett).
TYABA Board Members Aaron Brezik (Garland), Anita Manns (Austin), Michele Moore (Austin), Bryan Harris (Magnolia), and Rachel Miller (Weimer) are the youth delegates elected to serve one year terms on the TYABA board. They will attend quarterly meetings and be required to serve on various committees. They will also have a voice and vote in all matters of the meetings.
Policy & Procedure Changes The only real noticable change to the policy and procedures was the adoption of the "stagger system" of electing officers. The officers will now serve two-year terms instead of one. This will go into effect June 1, 2000. This means that on even years (Ex. 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006......), elections will be held for Vice-President, Secretary, and Director 3. On odd years (Ex. 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007......), elections will be held for President, Treasurer, and Directors 1 & 2.
